In response to the continuing need for blood donations during the coronavirus pandemic, two local churches have planned to hold American Red Cross blood drives.
Fenton United Methodist Church will hold a weeklong drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 6-10 at the church, 800 Gravois Road.
First United Methodist Church of Festus-Crystal City will hold its drive from 1-5 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at the church, 113 Grand Ave., in Festus.
Prospective donors are encouraged to check the Red Cross website at redcross.org or call 1-800-733-2767 to make an appointment. Those wishing to schedule a donation can go to the website or make the call to find a nearby donations site.
Officials at the church in Festus said their food pantry remains open from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays with curbside delivery only.
Residency and frequency requirements are being temporarily suspended, church officials said.
