The American Countess is coming to Kimmswick.

The newest of the four boats operated by the American Queen Steamboat Co. of New Albany, Ind., is set to tie up at the new port in Kimmswick on Friday (Aug. 20) sometime between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

at about 8 a.m.

The passengers will be greeted with music and a short welcoming ceremony scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.

Tour buses taking passengers to sites such as the Anheuser Estate, the Kimmswick Historical Society Museum, the Burgess-How House and Mastodon State Park and the LaChance Winery vineyards in De Soto are scheduled to depart at 12:30 p.m.

The American Countess is scheduled to depart from Kimmswick at 10 p.m.

The American Duchess, another American Queen Steamboat vessel, christened the new port on July 11, marking the first time in more than 125 years that a riverboat plying the waters of the Mississippi River made a stop in Kimmswick.
