Todd T. Tyson, 44, of De Soto died in a crash that also injured three others on Thursday, Oct. 17, on northbound Hwy. 67 at Meyer Road south of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 11:14 a.m., Gerald J. Feuling, 71, of Pearland, Texas, was driving a 2022 Subaru Ascent when he attempted to stop for a red signal and traveled into the intersection, the report said. Tyson, driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla behind the Subaru, struck the rear of the car.

Tyson was taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, where hospital personnel pronounced him dead at 11:53 a.m., the report said.

A passenger in the Subaru, Catherine L. Feuling, 75, of Pearland, Texas, and a passenger in the Toyota, Cristia J. Cheatham, 28, of De Soto, were seriously injured, and Gerald Feuling had minor injuries, the report said. All were taken by the ambulance district to Mercy as well.

According to a hospital spokesman, Cheatham was treated and released, Catherine Feuling was treated and transferred to Mercy Hospital St. Louis, where she was treated and released, and the hospital did not have information on Gerald Feuling’s condition.

According to the report, Tyson was not wearing a seat belt, but the others were. The Toyota was extensively damaged, and the Subaru was moderately damaged.
