An Imperial woman and a Festus woman were injured Monday morning, Sept. 26, in a four-vehicle accident on Hwy. A east of Pioneer Road and Hillsboro, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 7:42 a.m., Tory K. McKinney, 66, of Festus, in a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, and Juan D. Pascual, 29, of Fenton, in a 2009 Ford F150, had slowed down for traffic while driving east on the highway, and Jared M. Lattimore, 20, of St. Louis, who was driving an eastbound 2013 Ford Expedition, was unable to stop and struck the rear of the Cruze. Then, the Cruze struck the rear of the F-150, the report said.
After that, Rachel M. Massey, 38, of Imperial in an eastbound 2016 Hyundai Elantra was unable to stop for the other vehicles and struck the rear of the Expedition, according to the report.
No injuries were reported for Pascual or Lattimore. However, Massey was moderately injured and McKinney had minor injuries. Both were transported to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, Massey by Valle Ambulance and McKinney by Big River Ambulance, and both were treated and released, a hospital spokesperson said.
According to the report, all drivers were wearing seat belts.
The Elantra was extensively damaged, the Expedition and Cruze were moderately damaged and the F150 had minor damage, the report said.
