Two women, one from De Soto and the other from Bonne Terre, were injured Thursday evening (Dec. 16) in a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. 67 and Montauk Drive south of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 5:26 p.m., Tayler J. Abel, 28, of De Soto was driving a southbound 2014 Ford Flex in the left-turn lane on the highway and while trying to cross the northbound lanes to turn left onto Montauk Drive, the SUV struck the front of a northbound 2008 Saturn Vue driven by Pamela M. Williams, 62, of Bonne Terre, the report said.
Abel had minor injuries, and Williams was moderately injured, and both were taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.
The two women were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
Both the SUVs were totaled, the report said.
