Two teenagers from Franklin county were hurt in a two-vehicle accident Saturday evening (June 18) on Gravois Road in the Fenton area of Jefferson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Brandon Giancola, 19, of St. Clair was driving a 2001 Dodge Neon east on Gravois Road at 8:28 p.m. and failed to stop at a stop sign at Valley Dell Drive, then drove in front of 2004 Jeep Wranger that was northbound on Valley Dell, and the front of the Dodge struck the front of the Jeep.
The driver of the Jeep, Matthew McNeely, 20, was not hurt in the crash but Giancola and a passenger in his car, Erika Cochran, 17, also of St. Clair, both sustained moderate injuries and both were taken by North Jefferson County Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, according to the report.
Both were treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
McNeely and Cochran were wearing seat belts but Giancola was not, according to the report. The Dodge was totaled in the accident, while the Jeep sustained moderate damage.
