Two people were killed in a one-vehicle accident that happened at 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Calvey Creek and Hawks roads in Dittmer near the Jefferson County border with Franklin County, says Cpl. Juston Wheetley of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
A third person was hurt in the accident and transported by helicopter to an area hospital, he said.
Wheetley said today (Jan. 4) that the vehicle burned after the accident, so a Medical Examiner’s report is needed to positively identify the victims.
Also, the cause of the accident is still under investigation, Wheetley said.
As a result, no other details are available, he said.
Wheetley said he didn't know when more information would be available.
