Two pedestrians were injured Tuesday evening (Jan. 4) when they were walking across Hwy. 61-67 at East St. in Barnhart and a pickup struck them, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 7:55 p.m., Gerald W. Parsons, 65, of Arnold was driving a 1992 Ford F150 and while turning left from a parking lot onto northbound Hwy. 61-67, the pickup struck the two pedestrians – Debra K. House, 66, of Park Hills and Phillip R. Scott, 68, of Desloge, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Parsons.
Both of the pedestrians, however, were moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where they were treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
Parsons was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The pickup was not damaged, the report said.
