Two Hillsboro women were injured this morning, May 9, in a two-car crash on Hwy. 67 at Victoria Road, just southwest of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 8:50 a.m., Beverly D. Shelby, 74, was driving an eastbound 2020 Volkswagen Jetta and attempted to cross northbound Hwy. 67 onto Victoria Road, traveling into the path of a 2015 Audi A6, driven north by Trent J. Degonia, 33, of Bonne Terre, the report said.

Beverly Shelby and a passenger in the vehicle, Diana M. Shelby, 77, were moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, the report said.

The hospital did not have information on the women, a hospital spokesman said.
