traffic accident 2 patrol patch

Two High Ridge women were injured in a one-car wreck Labor Day afternoon (Sept. 4) in Franklin County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

The women – Blake M. Nolda and Paige A. Skawinski, both 22 – were passengers in a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Mark A. Smith, 25, of Cedar Hill. No injuries were reported for Smith.

At 4:50 p.m., Smith was driving on Hwy. FF north of Huff Road and his car’s right tire went off the right side of the road before he overcorrected and the car skid across the road and ran off the left side, where the front of the vehicle struck a ditch and overturned, the report said.

Nolda and Skawinski were moderately hurt and taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Washington.

Neither he nor his passengers were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.

The Malibu was totaled, the patrol reported.
