traffic accident patrol patch

A Fenton woman was hurt early Friday morning, May 24, in a four-vehicle accident on I-55 north of Hwy. 141 in St. Louis County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 1:07 a.m., Tonya M. Hill, 42, of Fenton was driving a 2016 Jeep Wrangler south on the interstate and struck the rear of a southbound 1997 Ford Mustang driven by a 17-year-old St. Louis girl. A southbound 2009 Chevrolet S-10 driven by Sid H. Gallagher, 23, of Waterloo, Ill., also was struck during the accident, and then the S-10 struck the front of a southbound 2006 Honda Accord driven by Jeffery M. Eichelberger, 62, of Festus, the report said.

No injuries were reported for the teenager, Gallagher or Eichelberger.

However, Hill was moderately injured and taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.

All the drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The S-10 was totaled, the Accord was moderately damaged, and the Wrangler and Mustang sustained minor damage, the report said.

The highway patrol did not released the teen’s name because she is a juvenile.
