traffic accident patrol patch

Three local residents were injured Thursday afternoon (Oct. 11) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 30 at Northwest Boulevard in unincorporated Fenton, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 3:55 p.m., a 39-year-old Hillsboro woman, driving a 2006 Jeep Cherokee east on Hwy. 30, allegedly ran a red light, and the Jeep struck the left side of a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan headed north on Northwest Boulevard, the report said.

Steven Herman, 57, of Arnold was driving the minivan.

The Hillsboro woman, Herman and a passenger in the minivan – Cindy I. Horvath, 61, of Fenton – were moderately injured and taken by ambulances to Mercy Hospital South (formerly St. Anthony’s Medical Center) in south St. Louis County, where the Hillsboro woman and Herman were treated and released, a hospital spokesman said Friday (Oct. 12).

He said the hospital had no information about Horvath.

All those involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.
