A man pulling his SUV into a bay at the Valvoline Instant Oil Change garage, 635 N. Creek Drive in Festus crashed through the bay back door today, Jan. 10.
The incident occurred about noon, said a Valvoline employee who declined to give his name.
“A customer pulling in hit the gas instead of the brake and drove through the door,” the employee said.
He said no on was injured, but the SUV was still trapped in place at about 2 p.m. waiting for someone from a garage door company to come and tend to the door and release the vehicle, the employee said.
“We’re waiting for someone from the garage door company to get the door off so we can move the SUV,” he said.
The facility services vehicles in three bays. The business continued to operate in the other two bays, the employee said.
He said the incident was not reported to police since it was an accident.
