A 26-year-old Ste. Genevieve woman was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated on drugs following a one-car accident that occurred Monday evening on Old Hwy. 21 south of Goldman Road north of Hillsboro, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 6:58 p.m., the woman was driving a 2006 Dodge Stratus north on Old Hwy. 21, where the car ran off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail and then returned to the road and ran off the left side of the road and struck another guardrail and then returned to the road once more before crossing the center line and then again running off the right side of the road, where it struck several small trees and a large rock, the report said.
The woman was moderately injured and taken by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The Ste. Genevieve woman was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The car was totaled, the report said.
The highway patrol arrested her at the hospital, according to the report.
