A St. Louis woman was hurt Thursday evening (Dec. 13) in a two-vehicle accident that also involved an Imperial woman. The accident happened at 7 p.m. on I-55 south of Reavis Barracks Road in St. Louis County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
Sanja G. Kartalija, 19, of St. Louis was driving a 2005 Nissan 350Z south on I-55, and the car “spun out” and crossed into the path of a southbound 2017 Buick Enclave driven by Racquel L. Rudd, 46, of Imperial, hitting the SUV head-on. Then, the car struck the guardrail, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Rudd.
However, Kartalija was moderately injured and taken by private conveyance to Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis County, the report said.
The two drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
Both vehicles were extensively damaged, the report said.
