Two St. Louis men were injured Wednesday morning, April 12, in an accident involving two big rigs at Old Hwy. 21 and West Four Ridge Road north of Otto, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 10:10 a.m., Jamar T. Ashford, 30, of St. Louis was driving an eastbound 2020 International MV607 and while turning left onto the highway, pulled into the path of a northbound 2004 Kenworth T800 driven by Vincent A. Fischre, 61, of House Springs. The front left side of the Kenworth struck the right side of the International, and then both vehicles began sliding and ran off the right side of the road, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Fischre.
However, Ashford and a passenger in the International – Lance J. Perryman, 40, of St. Louis – were moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
Ashford was not wearing a seat belt, and Fischre and Perryman were wearing them, the patrol reported.
The International was extensively damaged, and the Kenworth had minor damage, the report said.
