A St. Louis man was seriously injured Saturday evening, April 29, in a motorcycle accident on West Rock Creek Road west of Gail Drive in the High Ridge area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 7:47 p.m., Joshua D. Rickly, 40 of St. Louis was riding a westbound 1991 Harley-Davidson Fatboy, failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of the bike, which ran off the right side of the road and ejected Rickly before hitting a tree, the report said.
Rickly was taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.
He was not wearing a helmet, or at least not a Department of Transportation-approved one, the patrol reported.
The motorcycle was moderately damaged, the report said.
