Stephen J. Deaton, 59, of Pevely was injured Monday night (Oct. 8) in a three-vehicle accident on Hwy. 141 north of Hwy. 21 between Arnold and Fenton, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 7:03 p.m., Deaton was driving a 2006 Ford Fusion south on Hwy. 141, and the car struck the back of a southbound 2006 Dodge Caravan that was stopped at a red light. Then, the minivan was pushed into the back of a southbound 2011 Ford Edge also stopped for the light, the report said.
Jessica J. Rich, 34, of Fenton was driving the Caravan, and Ashley N. Ellis, 32, of Fenton was driving a 2011 Ford Edge. No injuries were reported for them.
Deaton was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South (formerly St. Anthony’s Medical Center) in south St. Louis County, where he was listed in satisfactory condition on Tuesday (Oct. 9), a hospital spokesman said.
All three drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The Fusion and Caravan were totaled, and the Edge had minor damage, the report said.
