A section of Hwy. BB in Cedar Hill was shut down for a day after this vehicle struck a utility pole.

A section of Hwy. BB near Three B Road in Cedar Hill was closed for almost 24 hours after a minivan hit a utility pole the morning of Nov. 26, Cedar Hill Fire Chief Mick Fischer said.

The Cedar Hill Fire Protection District got a call at 9:16 a.m. about the one-vehicle accident, and crews arrived on the scene at 9:22 a.m., Fischer said.

He said the driver was not injured.

After the driver ran off the road and hit the pole, Fischer said, the driver stayed in the vehicle until crews arrived to make sure it was safe to exit.

Fischer said Monday that he did not know the cause of the accident.

He also said that residents who live near the road closure were without power for a short period.

The highway was shut down so both Ameren and AT&T could fix the lines and pole, Fischer said.

He said Cedar Hill firefighters stayed on the scene until 12:06 p.m.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Big River Ambulance helped with the call, Fischer said.
