A Valles Mines man and two Neelyville women were injured in a crash on Hwy. 67 south of Buck Creek Road near Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 8:38 a.m. today, Feb. 6, Ferdand M. Kester, 85, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Colorado and merged onto northbound Hwy. 67 in front of a northbound 2010 Chevrolet Impala driven by Terrie S. Carter, 45, the report said. Carter allegedly applied the brakes and struck the rear of the Colorado, then traveled off the right side of the road.
Carter and a passenger in the vehicle, Mary K. Asher, 54, were both moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said. Kester had minor injuries and was taken by private conveyance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.
According to a Mercy spokesman, Carter, Asher and Kester were treated and released.
The report said Asher and Kester were wearing seat belts and Carter was not.
The Impala was totaled, and the Colorado had moderate damage, the report said.
