A Festus man was injured Thursday, Aug. 10, in a three-vehicle accident on Hwy. A east of Harrison Lake Road west of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 8:55 a.m., Joseph J. Alley, 19, of Festus was driving a westbound 2008 Pontiac G6 and failed to stop for traffic ahead, and the front of the car struck the rear of a westbound 2022 Kia Carnival minivan driven by Brandi M. Herron, 43, of Hillsboro. That collision pushed the minivan into a westbound 2005 Chevrolet Express van driven by Nathan A. Branch, 43, of St. Louis, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Herron or Branch. However, Alley was moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
Alley was not wearing a seat belt, and the other two drivers were wearing them, the patrol reported.
The G6 and Carnival were totaled, and the Express sustained minor damage, the report said.
