John F. Broeker, 65, of Hillsboro was seriously hurt Saturday night, June 1, in a motorcycle crash at Mapaville Hematite and Plass roads near Mapaville in Jefferson County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 8:08 p.m., Broeker was riding a northbound 2008 Harley-Davidson Road King and while trying to stop on the wet pavement, the motorcycle began to skid and overturned, the report said.
He was taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south Louis County, according to the report.
Broeker was not wearing a helmet, or at least not a Department of Transportation-approved one, the patrol reported.
The motorcycle sustained minor damage, the report said.
