Eric M. Fitzgerald, 43, of Imperial was injured Friday evening, Oct. 28, when he was walking on Hillsboro House Springs Road south of Tower Road south of House Springs and was struck by a car driven by an unknown person who allegedly fled the scene, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 7 p.m., Fitzgerald was walking north in the northbound lane of the road, and a person driving a northbound Chevrolet Cavalier allegedly struck the man and left the scene of the accident, the report said.
Fitzgerald was moderately injured and taken by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
The Cavalier is believed to have sustained minor damage, the patrol reported.
