The man was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
He was exempt from wearing a helmet, the patrol reported.
The bike was moderately damaged, the report said.
The highway patrol arrested the man at 9:14 p.m. at the hospital. His name will not be published unless charges are filed against him, and as of this afternoon (Nov. 5), none had been filed.
