A Fairdealing woman was killed and two House Springs women were hurt Friday afternoon (Jan. 20) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 30 at Indian Springs Road in House Springs, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
In addition, one of the injured House Springs women was arrested for alleged assault; possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia; and driving while intoxicated, the patrol reported.
The Fairdealing woman, Brianna R. Pollard, 19, who was a passenger in the car the House Springs woman was driving, died.
At 2:13 p.m., the 22-year-old House Springs woman was headed south in a 2016 Kia Rio, and while crossing Hwy. 30 from Lower Byrnes Mill Road and attempting to enter Indian Springs Road, the car crossed into the path of a Jeep, which had slowed but struck the right side of the car, which spun and ran off the right side of the road, down an embankment and struck a tree, the report said.
The 22-year-old House Springs woman who was driving the car was seriously hurt and taken by North Jefferson County Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, where she was listed in good condition this morning (Jan. 23), a hospital spokesman said.
Tracy L. McAfee, 44, of House Springs was driving the Jeep. She sustained moderate injuries and was taken by Big River Ambulance to St. Anthony’s, where she was treated and released, the hospital spokesman said.
Pollard was pronounced dead at the scene.
All three women were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The car was totaled and the Jeep was extensively damaged, the report said.
The 22-year-old House Springs woman was arrested at the hospital and released from custody pending application for warrants.
The highway patrol will seek two counts of felony second-degree assault, felony drug possession and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia and DWI, the report said.
As of today, no charges had been filed.
