A Hillsboro woman was killed early Friday, Aug. 26, when the car that she was riding in ran off the side of Glade Chapel Road in Hillsboro. The Hillsboro man driving the car suffered serious injuries in the crash.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Cole Wright, 23, was driving a 2011 Ford Fiesta west on Glade Chapel Road east of Deborah Road in the Goldman area at 6:50 a.m. when he drove off the right side of the road and the Ford hit a tree and overturned.
A passenger in the car, Emma Passmore, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene by Big River Ambulance personnel at 7:19 a.m., the report said.
Wright sustained serious injuries in the crash and he was taken by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
An update on his condition was not available.
Passmore was wearing a seat belt but Wright was not, the report said.
The Ford was totaled, according to the report.
