A woman and a teenager, both of High Ridge, were injured Friday evening (Sept. 10) in a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. 30 and New Sugar Creek Road in the Murphy area in unincorporated Fenton, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 7:38 p.m., a 48-year-old High Ridge man was driving an eastbound 2015 Chevrolet Suburban and allegedly ran a red light, and the front of the SUV struck the right side of a 2006 Volkswagen Passat driven by Christy A. Sturgeon, 44, of High Ridge, who was turning left from westbound Hwy. 30 onto New Sugar Creek, the report said.

No injuries were reported for the High Ridge man

Surgeon was seriously injured, and a passenger in the Passat – a 14-year-old High Ridge girl – was moderately injured. Both were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.

All those involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The two vehicles were totaled, the report said.
