A 52-year-old High Ridge woman was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following one-vehicle accident Monday afternoon, Aug. 7, at Flucom and Hencher roads east of De Soto. She was seriously injured in the crash, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3:30 p.m., the High Ridge woman was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox west on Flucom Road, failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the right side of the road, where the SUV struck a tree, the report said.
The woman was taken by Valle Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, then transferred to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where she was listed in good condition this afternoon, Aug. 8, a hospital spokesperson said.
The woman was not wearing a seat belt, and the vehicle was moderately damaged, the report said.
According to the report, the woman was arrested at 4:04 p.m. Monday for the alleged DWI at the hospital where she was later released.
Unless charges are filed against the High Ridge woman, her name will not be published, and as of this afternoon, none had been filed.
