A High Ridge man was injured Tuesday, Nov. 7, when he was riding a motorcycle on Hwy. E south of County Line Drive north of Bonne Terre in Ste. Francois County and struck a deer, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 11:15 a.m., Gary R. Heskett, 75, of High Ridge was riding a southbound 1991 Honda Valkyrie when he struck a deer in the road and was thrown from the motorcycle. Then, the motorcycle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree, the report said.
Heskett was moderately injured and taken by St. Francois County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County where he was listed in satisfactory condition as of this afternoon, Nov. 8, a hospital spokesman said.
According to the report, Heskett was wearing a helmet, and the motorcycle was extensively damaged.
