A Festus woman was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a two-car accident early Saturday morning, Dec. 16, at Horine and Festus Horine roads north of Festus. An Imperial woman was injured in the crash, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 1:20 a.m., the 45-year-old Festus woman was driving a 2014 Volkswagen Passat east on Horine Road and crossed the center line, and the front left side of the car struck the front left side of a westbound 2015 Honda Civic driven by Ariyah L. Valleroy-Smith, 19, of Imperial, the report said.
No injuries were reported for the Festus woman.
However, Valleroy-Smith was moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.
The two women were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
Both cars were moderately damaged, the report said.
The highway patrol arrested the Festus woman at 1:48 a.m., and she was held at the Festus Police Department until her release, according to the report.
The suspect’s name will not be published unless charges are filed in the case, and as of this morning, Dec. 17, none had been filed.
