traffic accident patrol patch

A 17-year-old Festus boy was injured Friday evening, April 3, in a one-vehicle accident on Hwy. TT north of Hwy. AA south of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 6:03 p.m., the teenager was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado south on Hwy. TT, ran off the right side of the road and began sliding before returning to the road, crossing the center line and running off the left side of the road, where the pickup’s undercarriage struck an embankment and the front end struck a wood pile. The truck also overturned, the report said.

The teen was moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, according to the report.

He was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

The pickup was extensively damaged, the report said.

The highway patrol did not release the teen's name because he is a juvenile.
