A Festus man and a St. Louis woman were injured Thursday evening, June 30, in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 61 near Scott Lane in Imperial, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 5:10 p.m., Adam N. Steffens, 18, of Festus was driving a 2015 Dodge Dart south on the highway and crossed over the double yellow lines into the path of a northbound 2021 Ford Bronco driven by Lynn S. Fischer, 34, of St. Louis. The front of the Bronco struck the front of the Dart, the report said.

Steffens and Fischer were moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where they both were treated and released, a hospital spokesperson said.

According to the report, Steffens was not wearing a seat belt and Fischer was wearing one.

The Bronco was totaled and the Dart was extensively damaged, the report said.
