motorcycle crash

Donald J. Miller, 36, of Festus was seriously injured early Tuesday morning (Oct. 12) in a motorcycle wreck on Hwy. C just west of Hwy. 32 south of Bloomsdale in Ste. Genevieve County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 1:15 a.m., Miller was riding a 1996 Harley-Davidson west on Hwy. C and struck the rear of a westbound 2003 Ford Taurus that was stopped on the road, and Miller was ejected from the motorcycle, the report said.

Sheena R. Bouse, 38, of Bonne Terre was driving the Taurus. No injuries were reported for her.

Miller was taken by helicopter to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

No update on his condition was available today (Oct. 13).

Bouse was wearing a seat belt, and Miller was not wearing a helmet, or at least not a Department of Transportation-approved one, the patrol reported.

The motorcycle and car both were extensively damaged, the report said.
