Michael E. Hodge, 70, of Festus was seriously injured Monday evening, Feb. 27, in a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. 67 and Meyer Road southwest of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 5 p.m., Hodge was driving a northbound 2001 Toyota RAV4 and allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and struck the front of an eastbound 2011 Ford Escape driven by Jeri L. Fadler, 61, of Festus. Then, the RAV4 overturned off the right side of the road, the report said.

No injuries were reported for Fadler.

Hodge was taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, the report said.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The RAV4 was totaled, and the Escape was extensively damaged, the report said.
