Angel R. Crews, 20, of Fenton was injured Sunday evening, July 3, in a two-vehicle accident on Saline Road south of Hermitage Drive and southeast of Murphy, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 7:50 p.m., Crews was driving a 2009 Pontiac G6 north on Saline Road and ran off the right side of the road, where the car struck the ground and lost its right rear wheel before returning to the road and crossing the center line. The left side of the G6 struck the front left side of a northbound 2008 Ford F250 driven by Stacy R. Horton, 38, of Cody, Wyo. After the collision, both vehicles ran off the right side of the road, and the F250 struck a mailbox, the report said.

No injuries were reported for Horton.

Crews was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesperson said.

According to the report, both Crews and Horton were wearing seat belts.

The Pontiac was totaled and the F250 was extensively damaged, the report said.
