A Fenton motorcyclist was hurt in a collision with a sports utility vehicle Saturday (Sept. 11) on Old Sugar Creek Road in the Fenton area of Jefferson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that John Haring, 68, of High Ridge was driving a 2019 Honda CRV east on Sugar Mountain Drive and had stopped at Old Sugar Creek Road at 3:35 p.m. When he began to make a left turn onto Old Sugar Creek, he pulled out in front of a southbound 2016 Suzuki GSX R1000 motorcycle ridden by Nicholas Lowery, 42, of Fenton. Lowery attempted to avoid a collision, but the front of his motorcycle hit the right rear side of the SUV.
Lowery suffered moderate injuries and he was taken by North Jefferson Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
An update on his condition was not available.
The report made no mention of an injury to Haring.
Haring was wearing a seat belt, the report said. The motorcycle was totaled and the SUV had extensive damage.
