James L. Ferris, 57, of Fenton was hurt early this morning (April 4) when he was walking on Romaine Creek Road east of Orange Drive in unincorporated Fenton and was struck by a car that left the scene of the accident, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
Around midnight, Ferris was walking west on Romaine Creek and a westbound Chevrolet Chevette came from behind and the right side of the car struck Ferris on his left side. Then, the car continued west, the report said.
The patrol did not have a name for the driver, nor the year of the Chevette, according to the report.
Ferris was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
