Bryant W. Riggs-McElroy, 25, of Fenton was seriously hurt Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 16) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 30 at Northwest Boulevard in the Fenton area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

At 3:05 p.m., Riggs-McElroy was headed north in a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier on Northwest Boulevard and while attempting to turn left onto westbound Hwy. 30, another motorist, driving an SUV east on Hwy. 30, failed to stop at a red light, and the front of the SUV struck the left side of the car, the report said.

Jaimee D. Ridley, 25, of Fenton was driving the SUV, a 2012 Dodge Journey. No injuries were reported for her.

Riggs-McElroy was taken by North Jefferson County Ambulance to SSM St. Clare Health Center in Fenton, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said today (Nov. 17).

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The car and the SUV both were extensively damaged, the report said.
