A Fenton man and a Byrnes Mill woman were injured Thursday morning, Jan. 19, in a two-vehicle accident on I-44 west of Berry Road in St. Louis County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 11:05 a.m., Carlos L. Flores, 19, of Fenton was driving an eastbound 2002 Toyota Corolla and while trying to change lanes, he lost control of the car, which ran off the right side of the interstate and struck a guard rail before returning to the road into the path of an eastbound 2016 Ford Edge driven by Dean P. Robinson, 70 of Byrnes Mill. The front right side of the Edge struck the left side of the Corolla, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Dean Robinson, but Flores had minor injuries, and a passenger in the Edge – Kathryn A. Robinson, 63, of Byrnes Mill – was moderately injured.
Flores was taken by private conveyance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, and Kathryn Robinson was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, according to the report.
Flores and the Robinsons were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The Corolla was extensively damaged, and the Edge was moderately damaged, the report said.
