ATV accident

A 35-year-old Farmington man was transported by helicopter to an area hospital Sunday afternoon (Jan. 30) after he was seriously injured in an all-terrain-vehicle accident in House Springs, authorities reported.

At about 12:30 p.m., the Yamaha Blaster ATV got stuck in a drain near the intersection of Bear Creek Road and Midridge Drive, and while the man attempted to free it, the vehicle rolled over on him. He had been riding ATVs with a group of people when his daughter’s ATV became stuck and he tried to get it free, High Ridge Fire Capt. John Barton said.

When firefighters arrived at 12:34 p.m., he was lying in a field and was not trapped under the ATV. Firefighters believe he was not wearing a helmet when the accident occurred, the report said.

The man was transported by Big River Ambulance District to a helicopter landing zone, where Survival Flight then flew him to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, High Ridge Fire reported.
