A Eureka man and a House Springs woman were hurt this morning (Sept. 26) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. W north of Eureka Gardens in the Jefferson County portion of Eureka, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 8:20 a.m., William D. Farley, 46, of Eureka was driving a 1999 Ford Ranger south on the highway and while he attempted to slow, the pickup skidded across the center line, so Dorris J. Turner, 72, of House Springs, driving a northbound 2017 Chevrolet Cruze, steered to the right in an effort to avoid the pickup, but the front of the Ranger struck the Cruze head-on. Then, the Cruze came to rest on the right side of the road, the report said.
Turner was moderately injured, and Farley had minor injuries. Both were taken by the Eureka Fire Protection District to SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, according to the report.
The two drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.
