A teenage boy from Dittmer was injured in a jet ski accident early Friday evening in the Lake of the Ozarks.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the boy, Sean Guccione, 16, was riding a 1997 Seadoo personal watercraft near the 15 mile marker in the Big Niangua arm of the Lake of the Ozarks at 6 p.m. Friday and was headed toward a 1997 Kawasaki personal watercraft ridden by David Guccione, 14, also of Dittmer. Both released the throttle, losing control of their crafts and they collided.
The younger boy was not injured in the collision, but Sean Guccione sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, then transferred to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
An update on his condition was not available.
Both were wearing safety devices, the report said. The Seadoo had minor damage in the accident but the Kawasaki was not damaged.
