Alecia R. Adams, 33, of De Soto was injured Tuesday night (April 21) in a three-vehicle accident on I-55 north Butler Hill Road in south St. Louis County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 10:24 p.m., Adams was driving a 2009 Hyundai Elantra south on the interstate, lost control of the car and swerved to the right, striking the right rear of as southbound 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Ricky L. Eaker, 66, of Arnold, the report said.
After that collision, the front of a southbound 2019 Freightliner big rig driven by Vertis L. Lee, 62, of Milwaukee, Wis., struck the right side of the Elantra, according to the report.
No injuries were reported for Eaker or Lee.
However, Adams was moderately hurt and taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
All three drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The Elantra was totaled, the Cavalier had minor damage and the big rig was moderately damaged, the report said.
