A young woman from De Soto was hurt in a single-car accident Saturday afternoon (Jan. 26) on I-55 at Main Street in Imperial.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Gabrielle Galkowski, 21, was driving a 1999 Mercury Sable south on I-55 at 1:55 p.m. when she lost control of the car and drove off the right side of the road and into a rock bluff. The car overturned on impact, the report said.
Galkowski sustained moderate injuries and was taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South, the report said.
An update on her condition was not available.
She was wearing a seat belt, the report said. The Mercury was damaged extensively in the crash.
