A 22-year-old De Soto man died in a motorcycle crash on May 17 on Hwy. 61-67 at Herky Horine Road in Pevely, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 10:33 p.m., a 67-year-old High Ridge man was stopped at a stop sign in a 2018 Buick Encore before turning left onto northbound Hwy. 61-67, the report said. He drove into the path of the De Soto man who was operating a southbound 2023 Honda CBR1000RR reportedly at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle struck the left side of the Buick and the De Soto man was ejected from the motorcycle, the report said.
Joachim-Plattin Ambulance personnel pronounced the De Soto man dead on the scene at 10:40 p.m., and Edwards Mortuary Transportation took him to the St. Louis County Morgue, the report said.
According to the report, both the driver and the motorcyclist were wearing safety devices, and both vehicles were totaled.
