Duane K. Ballew, 53, of De Soto was seriously injured Tuesday evening (Feb. 8) in a one-vehicle accident at Hwy. V and Brittany Lane north of Valles Mines, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 8:34 p.m., Ballew was driving a northbound 1991 Jeep Wrangler and ran off the right side of the road, where the vehicle struck a mailbox and then a tree, the report said.
He was taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, according to the report.
However, the hospital had no information about him, a Mercy spokeswoman said.
Ballew was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The Jeep was totaled, the report said.
