A De Soto man and a Park Hills woman were injured Tuesday afternoon, July 26, in a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. 67 and Long Road southwest of Olympian Village, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3:45 p.m., Steven M. Sutten, 50, of De Soto was driving a 2014 Ford Escape east on Long Road and reportedly failed to yield to a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Margie M. Coleman, 50, of Park Hills, who was headed south on the highway, and the front right side of the Cruze struck the front left side of the Escape, the report said.
After that collision, both vehicles began spinning, and the rear left side of the Escape hit the right side of the Cruze. Then, the Cruze ran off the east side of the highway and struck an embankment, according to the report.
Both Sutten and Coleman were moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, the report said.
Sutten was treated and released. However, the hospital had no information about Coleman, a Mercy spokesperson said.
According to the report, both Sutten and Coleman were wearing seat belts, and both vehicles were totaled.
