Aaron D. Shelley, 86, of De Soto was injured Tuesday evening, July 5, in an accident on Hwy. E south of Downs Road in the De Soto area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 6:45 p.m., Shelley was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado north on the highway when the pickup ran off the right side of the road, down an embankment and up another embankment before it became airborne and passed over a driveway. Then, the front of the truck struck a tree, hit the ground and came to rest off the east side of the highway, the report said.
Shelley was moderately injured and taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County where he was listed in good condition on Wednesday afternoon, July 6, a hospital spokesperson said.
According to the report, Shelly was wearing a seat belt and the vehicle was totaled.
