A De Soto man died after he crashed a motorcycle Sunday evening, April 2, at 4308 Hwy. V south of De Soto, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 6:06 p.m., Curtis W. Bilbrey, 64, was riding a 2020 Harley-Davidson Street Glide south on the highway when he ran off the right side of the road, the report said.
Bilbrey was seriously injured and taken by Arch Helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur where he died from his injuries, a hospital spokeswoman said.
According to the report, Bilbrey was not wearing a helmet, or at least not a Department of Transportation-approved one.
The motorcycle was extensively damaged.
