A 20-year-old De Soto man was arrested early Monday morning, June 26, for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a crash on Hwy. P south of Pete’s Private Drive in De Soto that left him seriously injured, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
Just after midnight, the De Soto man was driving a 1993 Dodge Dakota north on the highway and the pickup ran off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and continued down an embankment, the report said.
The man was taken by Valle Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.
However, the hospital did not have information about him, a Mercy spokeswoman said.
According to the report, the man was not wearing a seat belt, and the pickup was extensively damaged.
The highway patrol arrested the man at 12:40 a.m. at the hospital for an alleged DWI, the report said.
The man’s name will not be published unless charges are filed against him for this incident, and as of this afternoon, June 27, none had been filed.
